The BOO collection contains many works for choir. They are often arrangements of Flemish folksongs or poems that composers have set to music. Karel Candael, for instance, set René De Clercq's poem De wiedsters to music for female choir. The score dates from 1912 and thus predates the establishment of the public broadcasting corporation. We do not know how the score came to be in the BOO collection. But it is clear that it has passed through many hands.
